Are you looking to expand your skills within photo-intaglio printmaking? Photopolymer plates offer the printmaker continuous tone, fine detail and rich blacks.
This course will introduce you to the unique properties of photopolymer, a water-based photosensitive plate that can be adapted for relief and intaglio techniques. You will be introduced to each stage of the process including how to prepare and output images using PhotoShop, testing and selecting exposure times, and developing, etching and printing from the plate.
Although this course will provide a comprehensive guide to using this technique a basic knowledge of Photoshop software and of the intaglio process is recommended in order to make the most of this process.
The studio in the Carlyle building (Room CG05) at the Chelsea Centre is light, spacious and well equipped with specialist facilities for etching. There are 2 Rochat presses bed size 26 x 56 inches.
The course fee includes all materials.
