RSL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Production & Business

Students complete a range of practical units, including Setting Up A Music Business, Creating A Sample Library, Studio Sound Recording and Mixing & Mastering. Students will attend guest lectures that take place throughout the year.

Who is this course for?
The course is designed specifically for students aged 16 yrs+ who are interested in pursuing a career in the music business. Students should have previous experience in music production at Level 2 or above and bring a portfolio of existing work to the interview.

Course Length & Timetable
The Level 3 Extended Diploma is a two-year full time programme, involving classes on 4 days per week during term-time. Those wishing to study a one-year Level 3 course may choose to apply for the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma.

Entry Requirements 
The entry requirement for this course is five GCSE’s at grades A – C, including either English or Maths, or an equivalent qualification such as a Level 2 Diploma. Students aged 19+ will need to bring a portfolio of their production work. Entry onto the course is subject to a successful initial assessment including a written task, listening exercise and interview.

Study Program for 16-19 yrs
In addition to the course units that make up your main qualification, students get assistance with Maths and English, alongside career advice and work experience opportunities.

What is a Level 3 Diploma
The Level 3 Extended Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification equivalent to 3 A-Levels.

How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed through a combination of practical work, written assignments and group projects.

If you are aged 16-18 on 1st September of the academic year, and you have been resident in the UK / EU for the previous 3 years, you will be entitled to free tuition. Enrolment for students aged 19+ is based on payment of fees, however you may be entitled to a concessionary fee. Fees for Level 3 courses are £3,995 per year.

Once you have completed the course you can progress to university or directly into employment in the creative industries.
