How to Plan your Garden

Key Course Information

Prior knowledge needed: Some practical gardening experience could be useful, but not essential. It is good for those who either considering to develop their outdoor spaces or would like to have a career in garden design.

Learning Outcomes: Know what resources are required in a specific garden design project and where to find them. Produce a budget and an action plan for the project.

Teaching Methods Used: A range of teaching methods including group demonstrations, group work, individual observation, discussion with questions and answer sessions.

Assessment Methods Used: Portfolio of evidence

Any extra work outside the class times required: Extra work is not required although the tutor may encourage you to do carry out some independent research.

Materials needed: A notepad and a pen/ camera to record key concepts.

Your Options when finished: You might like to attend another gardening related course at KCC to pursue a Level 3 Certificate in Garden Design.
