This course is aimed at applicants who may already be in the work place with an interest in refurbishing residential properties and also those wishing to gain an understanding of the skills and knowledge required to design residential interiors and prepare for design related employment. This course is designed to let you study around your family and work commitments. Learning takes place in fully equipped design studios, and teaching involves lectures and design workshops where you will be introduced to drawing skills, colour theory and styling, computer aided design (CAD), conceptual and spatial thinking to help you understand the creative design process and develop ideas for a client brief.
There will be visits to exhibitions, galleries and trade fairs and all sessions will be delivered by professional teachers, practicing architects and interior designers. Students on this course have developed the skills and confidence to gain employment with Fiona Campbell Designs, Susan Osbourne Interiors and many other reputable design organisations.
