KCC Level 2 Photography Certificate

Key Course Information

This new photography course is aimed at those who already have some basic knowledge of digital photography and have experimented with basic camera techniques.
It will provide a thorough and exciting overview of camera skills and the opportunity to master them when taking photographs on location, as well as in the studio.
It is designed for those who would like to realise the potential of their camera and to explore what makes a good photograph. The course will cover the effective use of aperture, shutter speed and camera flash for taking successful photographs. It will also cover basic studio lighting techniques, exploring how to use tungsten lights and flash for portraiture and still life.
Although this course does not lead to a formal qualification, you will be supported throughout in the completion of a series of set tasks that develop your creativity, consolidate your learning and put your photography skills into practice. You will be getting weekly feedback on the work you produced throughout the course.
The course runs one day a week for 6 weeks for a total of 30 hours. Once you complete this level 2 course you will receive a certificate provided by KCC, and will be able to continue onto advanced levels of photography study.
Our college photography programme will give you the confidence to pursue the study of photography at higher levels such as the National Diploma or even the HNC. It will also give you a solid foundation on which to build your camera skills and photographic techniques for your personal creative endeavours or work based practice.
Students should have their own DSLR or mirrorless camera.
