Photo Studio Lighting and Adobe Lightroom post-production techniques

Key Course Information

This is an innovative course in which you will explore studio lighting and Lightroom post-production techniques. During the sessions in the photographic studio you will be able to develop your lighting skills using a number of lighting techniques (i.e. high-key and low-key lighting), and create portraits and still life photographs. Our industry standard studio will provide you with the opportunity to use up-to-date equipment and produce high quality images that you will then be able to optimize using Adobe Lightroom. During the post-production sessions you will get a good understanding of Lightroom’s non-destructive editing. In our Mac suite you will learn how to effectively manage and fully optimize the look of your studio photographs. This five-day course is based around practical demonstrations and extensive hands on practice.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
• Use a variety of studio lighting techniques to create different effects i.e. high-key and low-key lighting
• Use a variety of studio lighting equipment
• Produce a range of creative studio portraits and still-life images
• Import, name and copyright images via Lightroom
• Create multiple ‘collections’ of images in Lightroom
• Process and optimize RAW and JPEG files in Lightroom
• Create ‘virtual copies’ of files with different edits
• Output your files in the appropriate size for print and web
After this course you might decide to join our Introduction to Photoshop in order to develop your post-production skills.
To join the Studio Lighting and Lightroom post-production techniques course, you should have a good understanding of the basics of photography in terms of aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
