Course Description
This Level 2 course is for learners who have completed the Level 1 Administration course or have some office experience already and who have basic skills in the main IT applications used in an office, with a word processing speed of 25 wpm. It is an excellent course for those who wish to further their careers in an office environment. Course outline includes: • Word processing / Spreadsheets / Powerpoint • Business English • Business Studies • Office Procedures
What background and qualifications do you need to join?
All applicants will be interviewed and complete a literacy screening test. To start this course,applicants must: 1) Have minimum GCSE grade C in English Language or ESOL/Basic Skills qualification at level 2 or literacy screening with score at level 2. 2) Have basic skills in IT and typing speed of 25 words per minute.
3) Have some office experience 4) Be committed to attend college for 3 days per week.
What does the course lead to?
Learners completing this course will progress to the OCR Level 2 Diploma in Administration or move into work as Administrators. Learners progressing to work may wish to continue their learning through Train to Gain or Apprenticeships in Business Administration.
You could also consider progressing to a Management course, Access to Business Studies. Alternatively students may wish to develop specific skills at the same level such as a Certificate in Book-keeping or a Certificate in Computerised accounts.

Classrooms are equipped with up to date facilities. IT classrooms have specialist software relevant to your course.
How much should I study outside class?
You will need to complete assignments and homework in your own time.
How is the course assessed?
A combination of assignments, portfolio and tests.

Your lecturer will show you how to access materials relevant to your course. The materials held online are intended to supplement your course and provide further information and opportunities to practice. They are not intended to replace attendance in class.

You will need to provide stationery such as folder, writing paper.

Level 2 Concessions
If you are 19+ and do not have a full level 2 qualification then you may be eligible for free tuition fees on this course. Concessions are for the tuition fee only. You will need to pay Examination and/or material fees if required.
