Course Description

This short course is for those who are interested in learning basic hair cutting techniques such as one length, short graduation, long graduation and uniform hair cut. It is also for those who would like to refresh their skills and techniques.

What background and qualifications do you need to join?

You should have an enthusiasm for hairdressing and the desire to learn along with a good level of spoken and written English

What does the course lead to?

All students will receive a College Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the course

Wornington Road Campus

What are the facilities and equipment like?

All of our courses take place in our well equipped salon and studio where you can learn new skills in a professional and friendly environment

How much should I study outside class?

It is recommended that you practice the techniques one hour per day

How is the course assessed?

The tutor will observe your work during the classroom sessions, assist you where necessary and give you feedback on your progress. It is required that you attend the course 100% of the time to maximise the benefits of your study.

Are any course materials online?

You will be provided with course materials; and you will have access to a Virtual Learning Environment (MOODLE) both at College and in the comfort of your own home. Research on the internet is strongly advised to support any presentational work

What books and equipment do I need?

You will need to purchase a kit comprising of a Training head, combs, brush, pins and grips. This should be purchased in advanced from the college. The kit price is approximately £63.

What else do I need to buy? / What extra costs are there?

Students are asked to wear a plain black top, smart full length black trousers and black low heeled closed-in shoes

What do I need to bring to the interview?

You will need to bring up to date Identification and funding to secure your place on the course

All students are admitted to the College on the basis that they:
