Course Description
This short course will give you the basic knowledge and understanding to create hair styles for special occasions. You will also learn the associated general health and safety, safe methods of using electircal appliances like curling tongs/irons and heated rollers

Wornington Road campus in West London
What are the facilities and equipment like?
All our courses take place in our well-equipped hairdressing training salons and theory studio where you can learn new skills and client procedures in a professional and friendly environment
How much should I study outside class?
At least 1 hour per day to improve skills and techniques
How is the course assessed?
This course is an introductory course there is no official assessments. However you are required to work on a training head. The tutor will observe your work during the session, assist you where necessary and give feedback on your progress. It is required that you attend the course 100% to maximise the benefits of your study.
Are any course materials online?
You will have access to a Virtual Learning Environment (MOODLE) both at college and in the comfort of your own home. Research on the internet is also advised.
What books and equipment do I need?
Dress code: Plain black top, full length black trousers, plain black, low-heeled closed-in shoes
What else do I need to buy? / What extra costs are there?
You are advised to purchase a kit comprising of a Training head, combs, brush, pins and grips. This should be purchased in advance from the college. The kit price is currently under review and may cost approximately £61.25.This will enable you to develop your skills at home. However, you will be able to participate in the sessions using the colleges equipment.
Look at Fashion magazines, hairstyling books and the internet to assist your work.

All students are admitted to the College on the basis that they:

- Provide original documentation that confirms entry qualifications.
- Meet the course entry requirements
- Provide information so that a school or college reference can be obtained if you are between 16-19 years old
