Our Fine Art qualification courses provide a unique opportunity for those who wish to begin their artistic careers with a challenging and rewarding period of study.
Their diagnostic nature encourages experiment within project based structures.
You can study on a full time or part time pathway, practising your fine art skills whilst building your portfolio of artwork to assist your progression to higher level study. Integrated support in developing and consolidating your English, Maths and IT skills will be part of the full time programme.
Foundation Preparation in Art & Design continues your development, refining your drawing practice and advancing your independent thinking. This level 2 course supports you in learning a range of techniques and processes that contribute to your strategies for problem solving and creativity. Regular tutorials and individual learning plans together with functional skills will support your progression to higher level courses or employment.
Foundation students will be able to build a portfolio of artwork and are supported in their progression to higher levels of study either in the College or at university. This diagnostic pathway will support you in choosing the subject discipline you find most satisfying and creative.
HNC (Level 4) is a higher level course delivered within the further education environment. To this end you get the best of both worlds. Your own studio space, tutorial support from practising artists who are also experienced teachers and a sense and scale of community that supports your individual development. Most of the HNC students progress to Fine Art degrees at the Slade, Goldsmiths, Chelsea, Camberwell, Central St. Martins, Middlesex, London Metropolitan, Wimbledon or to our Higher National Diploma (Level 5). On completing the HND, students can continue on to the Fine Art BA (Hons) top up (Level 6), which is validated by London South Bank University and gain their full Fine Art BA (Hons) at Kensington and Chelsea College.
Studio space, exhibition opportunities, high levels of individual tutorials, expert technical tuition, teaching seminars, lectures, workshops and gallery visits make these courses some of the best in London.
Art materials and model fees are not included in the course fees below. Basic materials can be purchased from the College. Extra costs will be indicated in the course outline or at an interview/advice sessions.
