English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
ESOL Courses are for people who live in the UK and whose first language is not English.
Our ESOL courses are general English courses designed to help develop the language skills necessary to live and work in the UK, for example, when looking for work, going to the doctor, shopping and meeting people. Our more advanced courses cover topical issues such as social media, politics, relationships and British culture, traditions and customs.
Our courses teach real-life English for real-life communication. All of our ESOL courses lead to nationally recognised qualifications, which you may need if you want to apply for a job or a college in the UK; or if you need to apply for citizenship (British passport). To find out more and to enrol, you need to come to one of our Initial Assessment, Guidance and Enrolment sessions and our staff will assess which is the right level course for you. Apart from our general English courses (ESOL), we also offer:
- International Cambridge courses if you need to prepare for the IELTS or a Cambridge English exam.
- Specialist English Courses for learners who want to improve a particular aspect of their English, including Pronunciation and Grammar.
Students enrolled on any ESOL courses will have access to Conversation Clubs and Grammar Surgeries (free of charge) throughout the term and there may be opportunities to develop ICT and employability skills.
