If you left school without the skills, confidence or qualifications you now need, or want to improve your skills towards a future in higher education and employment – we have classes that will help you. We offer English and Maths qualifications that will give you the skills you need for work, education and everyday life.
We offer qualifications to suit individual needs. These include GCSE English and Functional Skills English, at both the Kensington Centre and the Chelsea Centre, available in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.
All of our courses run for a full academic year (from September to July) and at the end of the course you will complete your studies with an assessment in order to give you a recognised qualification.
Many of our students are coming back to study for the first time in years. Students will be taught in small friendly classes with a relaxed and informal atmosphere offering a mixture of group and individual work.

This course aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts and techniques to provide a foundation of mathematical skills for further study. Through studying this course, you will become more confident in applying mathematical techniques and concepts to solve problems and you will develop an understanding of the importance of maths in everyday life.
A Mathematics GCSE is a valuable qualification that is always in demand in the employment markets, universities and colleges.
Taught by experienced, professional teachers, our Maths GCSE programmes focus on developing your knowledge with the aim of helping you to achieve a pass grade in your exams at the end of the year.
Functional Skills Mathematics
Do you need to obtain a recognised qualification for work or to further your education? If the answer is yes, then Functional skills is for you.
A Edexcel Functional Skills Maths qualification is designed to develop your maths skills and help you become more confident in your abilities for further study or career progression.
As this course has no entry criteria it is suited for anyone that has not studied maths for some time or have no prior maths qualifications.
These courses consist of:
- application of number
- applying knowledge of carrying out calculations using fractions
- working with money
- shape & Space
- measurements using perimeter, area and volumes to calculate worded problems
- handling data, extract and interpret charts/graphs
- present data in tables and charts.
The functional skills courses in particular are designed for learners who prefer to study in an environment that is very different to previous school.
These courses starts with an interview and an assessment so that we can find the level that is right for you. The course consists of three hours of study per week and a final examination to pass
Courses run at both of our centres at a variety of times.
