Millinery: Fish Skin Workshop

A two day workshop exploring fish skin, suitable for people with basic millinery experience to extend their skills to explore working with fish skin. Over the two day course students will be able to make a fish leather button beret (or something of similar size) trimmed with fish leather flowers. This will teach two different methods of working with fish leather as well as other techniques used in couture millinery.

Material Cost £45 per student, additional to workshop fee and payable in cash to the Tutor on the day.

Students need to bring:
Sharp Scissors to cut leather
Scissors to cut buckram
Apron
Millinery needles and thread
Blocking pins
Glass headed pins
Tape Measure
Plastic tub for mixed stiffener (approx. 6cm x 10cm)

Award in Millinery Level 1

An opportunity to learn core millinery skills, such as blocking, wiring, edging, trimming and finishing. You will start with felt before moving on to lighter weight materials.

City & Guiilds Millinery Design Level 2 Level 2

For those with a keen interest in fashion, this course covers a different area of millinery each term, such as felt hat making, working with straws and sinanay, trimmings etc. this is a mixed level group suitable for intermediate to advanced in millinery.
