Hannah Cevik: Interior Design Internship

Hannah Cevik has just finished the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in 3D Design – Interior and Spatial Design and is now going into full time work.

“Through my time at Kensington and Chelsea College,   was able to pick up key skills such as Photoshop, Vector works and 3D Model Making. This enabled me to secure a 3-month internship with an interior design company where I am helping to develop and create a whole interior concept, from designing the space to styling it with colour, pattern and texture, using computer aided design and model-making.”

My advice to students would be to: ‘Work hard at what you believe in. Confidence is key and showcase your personality and enthusiasm.’

Alex Miron: Interior Design

Alex Miron has just completed the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in 3D Design – Interior and Spatial Design and has received offers to study interior design from Middlesex University and University Arts London.

“This course taught me to prepare a strong portfolio for university application. It came with a strong practical component. I particularly appreciated designing a window display for Selfridges and the interior for an apartment in Trellick Tower. Both these projects gave me live experience and helped to build my skills and confidence.  Thank you to my amazing tutor for all your support and guidance throughout my time at Kensington and Chelsea College.”

Greta Gurnaite – Interior Design

Former customer service assistant Greta Gurnaite has plans to open up her own interior design business and it’s all thanks to the professional development she gained on the HNC Interior Design Level 4 at Kensington and Chelsea College.

Originally from Lithuania, Greta came to London at the age of 19 and started off working as a customer service assistant. Having attended art school for 5 years in Lithuania, Greta knew she wanted to pursue art and design and enrolled on a Graphic Design Level 1 course. It was not long after that she was introduced to Head of Interior Design: Alya Rizvi, who realised she had the skills and potential to enrol on an Interior Design Diploma Level 3.

I wanted to go down a course route that would prepare me for work without having to go to University. I believe progressing onto the HNC Interior Design Level 4 has given me that opportunity. I now feel that I have the confidence and industry knowledge to embark on my own career in Interior Design. The course has taught me so much more than just technique skills. It’s taught me how to manage my money, the importance of time management, and how to work with industry materials.
