ESOL Reading and Writing Courses

These courses are for you if you are able to speak and understand English at a higher level than you can read and write in English. They are also suitable for students who have limited reading and writing skills in their first language.

The classes aim to give you greater confidence in reading and writing so that you are better able to join a regular ESOL class the following year.

Courses are offered at Entry levels 1, 2 and 3 and led to the OCR Literacy qualification. You will be referred by a tutor at an ESOL Advice and Guidance interview. ESOL Reading and Writing courses are free.

This course is for second language speakers who have speaking and listening skills at a higher level than their reading and writing skills. The course gives an intensive focus on reading and writing skills at Entry 1, whilst continuing to develop students� speaking and listening skills. There are opportunities to gain a Literacy accreditation.
