Foundation, HNC and BA (Hons) Fine Art Show at Kensington & Chelsea College
24th June 2016 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pmFree
Fine Art students at Kensington and Chelsea College are exhibiting their work in three distinct shows at the KCC Chelsea site from the 24th June to the 1st July 2016. Work from the Foundation students, the HNC students (BA first year) and the final year BA students will be showing in three spaces across the Chelsea site.
KCC attracts an unusually diverse student body that brings with it an incredible wealth of perspective and experience to increasingly successful and accomplished courses. KCC students progress on to BA and MA courses at, Chelsea, Camberwell, the Royal College and Goldsmiths, and increasingly remain at KCC to complete their BA validated by London South Bank University.
HNC and BA course director Greg Rook said: “Our alumni, include Turner prize nominee Spartacus Chetwynd and Jerwood painting fellow Susan Sluglett, demonstrate our long standing success at helping students progress to the highest levels. We try to instil confidence and a belief in their ability to negotiate their way in a congested artworld. The students working towards their final shows in June have shown the required ambition. They are creating exemplary work and we are very proud of them.”
The exhibition will be held in the Hortensia Gallery on the ground floor of the Chelsea Building and on the ground and top floor of the Carlyle building next door. The Peter Stanley Prize will be awarded at the Private view. A seminar for the HNC students will take place in the gallery from 10.30 – 4pm on Monday 27th June.
