HNC Millinery Exhibition 2010
Award Winning Millinery Department Debut Cutting Edge Student Designs!
Kensington and Chelsea College has announced details of a five day exhibition that will debut the designs of some of the finest creative talent the UK has to offer.
Entitled 'The Collections', the event will open to the public on Monday June 7th at the Hortensia Gallery, with a special private viewing on June 8th, giving guests the chance to meet the student designers involved in putting it all together.
A showcase for emerging trends and cutting edge style, the eagerly awaited annual event has already attracted the attention of buyers for leading department stores such as Fenwicks.
Student designs will be also be available to purchase during the exhibition - an ideal opportunity to invest in a one-off piece while supporting the best of London's up and coming design talent.
Kensington and Chelsea College's world renowned Millinery Department has nurtured the talents of gifted milliners such as Justin Smith and West London's rising star designer Gina Foster.
Students are regularly recognised for their millinery skills at national award ceremonies and the end-of-year Millinery and Fashion exhibition is widely regarded as THE place to be to find the industry's next big thing.
Speaking about the exhibition, twenty-six year-old Kate Underdown, who will be displaying her work, said:
'Throughout the course, we've had some great opportunities to publicise our work through collaborations with leading brands such as Fenwicks and the exhibition is the icing on the cake.'
'The course attracts students from across the globe and all round, it's completely hands on and most importantly, taught by talented tutors who are still heavily involved in the industry.'
'We're all working extremely hard in the run up to June 7th and looking forward to welcoming the public as we showcase our designs.'
