No particular school or philosophy of art governs our course provision except a commitment to the excellence of the learning experience.

Focus is put on recent art, whether photography, video, sculpture, etc. Each class is devoted to a specific issue or an artist. Emphasis is placed on developing analytic skills rather than the memorization of names and dates. Although the tutor introduces the topic and provides the background of the subject matter, great importance is given to discussion. Students are encouraged to ask questions, participate in the debates and take part in the analysis of the works. The course is for those with a keen interest in contemporary art. No specialist knowledge is required. At the end of the course, the students should be more confident in their appreciation of contemporary art. They should be able to develop discussion with other interested people. Also, they should have a good picture of the contemporary art scene in London.
