Hairdressing Courses

The Hairdressing section at Kensington and Chelsea College has a reputation for the friendly and supportive environment in which our students study NVQ Level 1, 2 and 3 Hairdressing. All our courses take place in our well-equipped salon where you can learn hairdressing skills and client procedures in a professional environment.

We have excellent success rates and an impressive employment record for our past students. We enjoy strong links with the hairdressing industry, providing us with many opportunities for work placements. Acceptance onto our Further Education hairdressing courses is by individual interview, when we can build a personal study programme taking into account your existing skills and time available to study. Students need to be in work experience whilst on NVQ courses. We aim to be as flexible as possible to meet individual student needs.

First Steps to Hair & Beauty Level 1 ( 11ZFH003 )

Level 1

Qualification

This course introduces you to the hair and beauty industry preparing you to progress on to level 2 in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy. This course teaches you how to present a professional image, shows you how to shampoo and condition the hair effectively as well as creating basic hair styles for women. You will also learn basic hand and nail care treatments to broaden your experiences while on the programme. To compliment this path there are additional and valuable qualifications that run along side this course which includes Personal Social Development, English Maths and ICT to improve your learning. A uniform is worn during practical salon sessions.
