Paying for a course at KCC

How to pay

You will not have a confirmed place on a course until the fees have been paid.

If you are an overseas student, you will be charged the Non EU fee. For Birkbeck courses, overseas students pay the standard fee. Some of our English courses are free to EU residents. This is because they are subsidised by the British Government. Please ask if you are not sure of the fee levels.

Courses that have an envelope symbol in our publicity are open to everyone, but you should check the information carefully to make sure it is at a suitable level for you. These part-time courses will not enable you to apply for a student visa.

If English is not your first language, you will need to have Cambridge First Certificate or the equivalent level to get the best out of most of our vocational courses. If you are unsure about your level, please ask for advice before you enrol.

Some of these courses fill quickly, so enrol early to ensure your place.

You can apply and enrol on line. If you are not in the UK when you enrol, or someone from overseas is paying your fees, you can pay for your course by bank transfer. To do this, go to your local bank anywhere in the world and ask them to transfer the amount of the fees into our bank account.

Please contact us for bank details.

Please use your name as a reference, so we can see you have paid and email me at international@kcc.ac.uk as well to tell me when you have made the bank transfer and the course you have joined. You should ask the bank to transfer the exact amount of the course fees to our account. If the bank levies charges for the service, you will need to pay these separately to your bank.

We will send you a confirmation by email as soon as we have received your fees and you can collect your student card and receipt from the reception where your class runs, before your first class. You will be asked to show your receipt to the tutor.

Please note that if you withdraw from a course for whatever reason you may not be entitled to a refund of your fees. The College operates a different refund policy for International Students studying full-time courses who withdraw either before or during the course. You receive 30% of the original fee back for each complete term you will miss. So if you withdraw before the course starts you will receive a 90% refund, if you withdraw during the autumn term you receive 60% back etc. Please ask if you would like further details.

Courses requiring an interview

Most substantial courses leading to qualifications require an interview. Your application will be passed to the relevant department and someone will contact you about your enrolment. You should tell us if you need to apply for a student visa before you can attend college in the UK. When you have been interviewed in person, by phone or on-line, you will be offered a place if appropriate. (Some course tutors will not offer places without a personal interview.) If you wish to take up the offer, you need to pay your fees by bank transfer, as above, within seven days.

We will send you a confirmation by email as soon as we have received your fees and a letter to support your visa application if necessary.
