A variety of Arabic Language Courses, ranging from beginners to intermediate (possibility of advanced level depending on numbers), are delivered both, in day and evening classes in our London venue at Hortensia Road. Our course Director who is a specialised Arabic language tutor will assess your level and advise you to join the appropriate course to make sure you benefit most. You will be also advised on the progression routes available to you within the College and beyond. Emphasis is on the communicative approach to learning, involving all four skills, with an insight into Arabic and Islamic culture.

  • Arabic Beginners [Reading & Writing] Part II ( 11DAR101 )

    Level E

    Qualification

    This course is the extension of Part I that started in September 2011. Reading and Writing is covered, grammar being taught in an integrated way. The emphasis is on the communicative method of learning. Formal instruction, pair/group work, listening, reading and comprehension exercises, role plays, games, discussions and tutorials are all part of the course. Use is also made of video, internet and audio tapes. The exam board is ABC. Mock exams are held throughout the course.

    Qualification

    This course is for students who wish to learn standard Arabic and have done ABC Entry Level 2 or 60 hours of an equivalent course and are interested in gaining a qualification. In this course students will be assessed in Reading and Writing. Grammar is taught in an integrated way. The emphasis is on the communicative method of learning. Formal instruction, pair/group work, listening, reading and comprehension exercises, role plays, games, discussions and tutorials are all part of the course. Use is also made of video, satellite broadcasts and audio tapes. The exam board is ABC.

  • Arabic Advanced (ABC) Level 1 - Part II ( 11DAR185 )

    Level 1

    Qualification

    This course is for students who have done ABC Entry 3 or at least a total of 120 hours learning Arabic, and who are interested in gaining a qualification. In this course students will be assessed in Speaking and Listening, however a lot of work covers Reading and Writing in preparation for part II course which starts in January 2012. Grammar is taught in an integrated way. The emphasis is on the communicative method of learning. Formal instruction, pair/group work, listening, reading and comprehension exercises, role plays, games, discussions and tutorials are all part of the course. Use is also made of video, satellite broadcasts and audio tapes. The exam board is ABC.

    This course is lively and communicative! It is designed to improve your skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Teaching methods include: formal instruction, pair and group work, role-plays, games, discussions and tutorials. Video and audio tapes are also used. If you have completed the Arabic for Beginners course which started last September, or have equivalent experience of around 40 hours of studying the language then this is the course for you. Upon completion you join an intermediate course the following year.
