You must have completed the first part of a beginners course in Spanish, 20 hours or equivalent. . This course covers speaking. Grammar is taught in an integrated way. The emphasis is on the communicative method of learning. Formal instruction, pair/group work, listening, reading and comprehension exercises, role plays, games, discussions and tutorials are all part of the course. Use is also made of video and audio tapes and the Interactive Board. Your level of language skill will be assessed by means of a test and an interview prior to enrolment

Qualification
You must have some previous learning of the language which is approximately 30 hours of tuition or the equivalent experience of speaking and reading in the language. This course covers reading, writing, listening and speaking. Grammar is taught in an integrated way. The emphasis is on the communicative method of learning. Formal instruction, pair/group work, listening, reading and comprehension exercises, role plays, games, discussions and tutorials are all part of the course. Use is also made of visual and audio materials. Past exam papers are used in class activities to help prepare students for the final exams, held in May and June by EDEXCEL. All four language skills are assessed. A minimum of 3 hours home study per week is required. Your level of language skill will be assessed by means of a test and an interview prior to enrolment
