  • Photoshop: Basic Skills ( 11MAC012 )

    Level 1

    A course for those who have yet to experience this powerful and exciting image-manipulation programme for designers, artists and photographers. Learn how to scan images, make layers, collage text and image and create a multitude of special effects on photographs or hand-created artwork. Exciting project work allows you to realise your new skills in context. This course is taught using Apple Macs.

    Qualification

    This course will give students the opportunity to learn Adobe’s InDesign, which is an industry standard software used for the creation of magazine and news letter layouts. The course will also focus on image and text placement, using a range of tools and techniques to create printed materials such as business cards and leaflets. Learners will also gain a basic understanding of desktop publishing terminology, typography and image manipulation.

    Qualification

    This part time course is ideal for learners who have completed a Level 1 Award in Art and Design, though anyone with basic Photoshop skills is also welcome. Through practical tasks, layout planning, and exploration of the work of others, learners will develop their art and design skills using a variety of tools and techniques within Photoshop and Illustrator, to create a range of 2D artwork. Learners will also have the opportunity to develop their artistic side through the creation of supporting evidence for their visual diary.
