KCC, through its long established excellent partnership with Deep Recording Studios, offers the latest and exciting new suite of practical City & Guilds examinations, which are regularly updated via industry and designed to meet employer skills and needs for the music and sound industries in the 21st century. The new City and Guilds 7603 series Level 1, 2 and 3 certificates, diplomas & awards in Sound Engineering & Music Technology skills are now available. These new and exciting examinations will see students gaining access to fullly certified industry approved key skills training via the unique delivery partnership of Deep Recording Studios and KCC.
The new and regularly updated criteria and content includes in depth professional study of Industry health and safety,studio engineering skills, live sound and acoustics, music technology and industry business knowledge. This is a must for anyone seriously considering a career in the music and any related sound or creative industries. The new detailed examinations will also be available to people already working in the industry and their employers seeking to update further team skills. There are individuals awards for up skilling. No exams required to enrol and the Deep APRS approved professsional recording facility is your classroom!
Deep Recording Studios are currently the only JAMES industry approved FE National City and Guilds centre in the UK for all 3 levels of examinations.

What the course involves This is a detailed 440 hour music industry based level 2 course (on average 15 hours per week spread over 2 days) for focussed individuals with serious career aspirations and the potential to become future studio recording or live sound engineers, theatre/radio or live sound operatives and studio or media (web/gaming) based programmers. Industry based FE adult course for individuals who require further study and support or update in all current industry working practices and technology. Music and sound industry skills and responsibilities are further covered in detail, with particular focus on complex operator techniques and control. This qualification is also updated annually by City & Guilds and a team of industry consultants with all the latest developments for the music and sound sectors. The qualifications have been designed to provide candidates with advanced practical skills and knowledge valued by employers within the industry. This qualification has been developed to ensure it reflects a high level of current industry practices. Delivery of all project work for students is centred around the nationally approved Deep recording Studios industry standard 48 track broadcast recording environment. All our industry based recording staff working within the APRS (Association of Professional Recording Services) studio guidelines. Deep studios FE courses are approved by JAMES regarding FE education meeting industry employable skills requirements. See: www.deeprecordingstudios.co.uk Your staff team of tutorial engineers are all industry based recording engineers/producers with many years of recording experience, under membership of MPG (Music Producers Guild), PRS (Performing Rights Society) & APRS (Association of Professional Recording Services). Course completion leads to a nationally-recognised, industry endorsed qualification that will enable you to move onto more in depth knowledge required for the level 3 City & Guilds 7503-03
