Achieving The Planet Mark

Kensington and Chelsea College is proud to be working towards The Planet Mark, a sustainability certification issued by Planet First in partnership with the Eden Project. By putting sustainability first, Kensington and Chelsea College will not only take responsibility for its impact on the planet, but it will also experience the tangible benefits of sustainability as it works towards an annual carbon-footprint reduction target of 5%.

Through The Planet Mark certification, Kensington and Chelsea College is supporting the Eden Project, the UK’s leading sustainability education centre. Ten per cent of all The Planet Mark’s certification fees are used for the development of sustainability educational materials and workshops for school children and young people, as well as development training programmes, both off-site and at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Steve Malkin, CEO of Planet First, said:

“We are working with the Eden Project to create the future we want to live in. No matter where you start from, The Planet Mark campaign allows you to take ownership of your impact on our planet.

“We are delighted to welcome Kensington and Chelsea College into our community of The Planet Mark-certified businesses. Benchmarking our members’ carbon footprint will enable us to identify the real areas of concern, and provide a clear roadmap for improvement. We believe this will allow solid, measurable progress to be made, while helping to change the hearts and minds of individuals and businesses.”
