Pudsey Takes Over College Hair And Beauty Salon For Children In Need!
Staff and students from Kensington and Chelsea College’s Hair and Beauty Department were full of fundraising treats for Children in Need!
The glamorous team of fundraisers spent the week leading up to Children in Need shaking their collection tins, auctioning off a cuddly toy, selling cakes and jewellery and making cups of tea in exchange for donations.
Barbering tutor Dwaine O’Connor helped add to the growing fund by getting sponsored to have a design shaved onto his head.
The college’s in-house training salon was also given a quick-make over for the event as hair and beauty students decorated it with vibrant banners and images of Children in Need mascot Pudsey.
Impressed by the students charitable endeavours, clients attending the college’s salon for cut-price treatments happily dug deep and donated throughout the week.
In total, big-hearted staff and students raised over £200 for Children in Need.
Miranda Dickson, Salon Manager for Beauty at Kensington and Chelsea College, said:
‘All the students were really enthusiastic and got into the spirit of the event. It was also a great way to encourage students to get involved in charitable work and show them how their skills can also be used to give back to the community.’
