Electric Radio Brixton, the satellite radio station based at HMP Brixton scooped 4 awards in the prestigious Sony Radio Academy Awards. The ceremony was hosted by Chris Evans at London’s Grosvenor House on Monday 11th May 2009.
Electric Radio Brixton, (run in partnership between the Prison Radio Association and Kensington and Chelsea College) proved that winning Gold is about quality broadcasting, irrespective of budget, size or reputation, and from their four inaugural Sony nominations they won a staggering four Sony Awards, two Golds and two Bronzes.
The Station struck Gold in The Community Award and The Listener Participation Award and Bronzes in The Interview Award and The Speech Award.

KCC celebrated the opening of Feltham Radio Station, with Urban DJ Tim Westwood presenting a number of introductions for each student on the programme. Students are able to join the 6 week accredited programme on a roll on roll off basis, and so far we have had 18 boys through the programme.
