Student stylists from Kensington and Chelsea College impressed a panel of industry experts recently with a series of avant-garde makeovers.
The attention grabbing transformations were created by graduating Level 1, 2 and 3 Hair and Beauty students and was themed on the Oscars and Hollywood glamour.
Photographs of the finished looks were exhibited and judged for a competition held during the students’ graduation ceremony.
Around 50 images were displayed in the competition gallery, showcasing a unique selection of looks ranging from the elegant to the daring.
A panel of industry experts – Ken Sage from Goldwell, Freelance Hair Stylist Michael Price, Freelance Make-up artist Nadian and former Make-up tutor Claudia Gardner – spent more than two hours judging the images before selecting the winning hairstyles and make-up, along with a winner for the best overall make-over.
Each entrant was judged for their creativity, technique and skill.
The winners bagged a range of exclusive prizes which included training vouchers for hair colouring at the renowned Goldwell Academy, Training at the dermalogica academy IDI, professional photo-shoots, skin care packs, hair and beauty products, professional salon wear and designer glasses.
The students’ graduation ceremony took place at the college’s Wornington Centre in front of proud family, friends and tutors. The celebrations kicked-off with speeches, followed by the prize giving for competition winners and a presentation of certificates.
Prizes were sponsored by Goldwell, Capital Hair and Beauty Suppliers, Dermalogica and Bellitas.
