Two former Kensington and Chelsea College students were announced as prize winners of the International Hat Designer Competition held in Paris last week.
HNC Millinery student Rachel Richardson won first prize for her innovative design, while Paula Cooper of the same course won Highly Commended and was asked to design a range of hats for a Panama hat company in Ecuador.
“The Kensington and Chelsea College millinery department are delighted with the success of their former students and wish them well in their future careers,” says the KCC Fashion Curriculum Leader.
The International Hat Designer Competition is part of a major trade fair at Premier Classe attracting over 50,000 visitors from countries all over the world. The finalists’ works were displayed in the centre of the exhibition and winners were announced on Friday, September 4.
