Kensington and Chelsea College still has a few spaces remaining on its Preparation for Work and Study (ESOL 16-18) course.
The full time course is for anyone who is aged 16-18 and speaks English as a second or other language. The course is designed to will help you to get into work or prepare you to move on to a higher level course in the college.
As part of the course you will get an ESOL qualification as well as English, Maths and ICT Functional Skills qualifications at the right level for you. And if you’re still unsure about what you want to do in the future there will be chances at the college to find out about different subjects such as Business Administration, ICT, Hairdressing and Beauty or Multimedia.
Arturs Razevskis studied on the course after arriving from Latvia last year. He spoke very little English but the teenager was determined to improve his English and learn new skills to pursue his dream of one day running his own business.
Speaking about his experience at the college Arturs said:
‘I really like the course I’m doing at the college as it teaches us in a fun and enjoyable way. In class we also write about lots of thing to improve our writing and grammar. Some of things we have written about include what things we like, where we are from and other countries as the class has people from different parts of the world.’
‘The ESOL course is very good and has helped me a lot. I am more confident and enjoy speaking English. I would suggest the course at Kensington and Chelsea College to other people like me who want to improve their English. The college is a very friendly place and I have made lots of friends that I can practice my English on. The tutors are also very good and really care about their students. They are always helpful.’
