A group of creative trailblazers from Kensington and Chelsea College are set to debut their collection of cutting edge designs at a leading national exhibition.
The New Designers Exhibition 2012 brings together the UK’s talented, graduating designers and gives them a platform to showcase their work to industry employers, media and the design hungry public.
This year, six students from the college’s Professional Development Designer Makers Course will be among the cream of the crop displaying their creative flair at the exhibition.
Among the works being profiled by the students are stunning jewellery, glass and ceramic pieces.
Design student Ksenia Goryainova, who is exhibiting her first jewellery collection, said:
‘My passion for bespoke is a driving force behind my collection. I am thrilled to be exhibiting for the first time in New Designers- such a solid and exciting platform for all design students.’
Speaking about her course Ksenia added:
‘There are not many courses in London like Professional Development Designer Makers where making skills go in hand with the design and business essentials of setting up a brand. This course allowed me to grow and create, as well as giving me an opportunity to take part in .
‘V&A Inspired By…’ art competition and
‘New Designers’. Creating my jewellery collection was probably the most exciting and challenging quest in my life and this would not be possible without my course, support of tutors and being surrounded by like-minded students’
The New Designers Exhibition takes place at the Business Design Centre, Upper Street, Islington, and runs from June 27 – 30 and July 4 – 7, 2012.
The exhibiting students are Christian Avendano, Ksenia Goryaninova, Mayra Cunningham, Michaela Poll, Suzy Grimshaw-Jones and Tania Covo
