New students got a taste of life at Kensington and Chelsea College with a welcome fair offering free gifts, special offers and lots of information about support services.
The fair was part of a two day event aimed at giving new cohorts the chance to make new friends, meet staff, find out about college services and discover their new local community.
In addition to stalls hosted by the college’s in-house support and finance teams, there were also several external organisations present, including the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Sport Development Team who were on hand to talk about getting active and staying healthy.
Students also got to meet their local Safer Neighbourhood Team from the Metropolitan Police who gave away free personal alarms, as well as provide safety and security advice.
New student Jessica Magashi, who is studying Beauty Therapy at the college, said:
‘The fair is a great idea. I found it really useful as most students aren’t aware of all the services available to them when they first start college. I’ve had a fantastic day and met some new people along the way!’
