On Wednesday 11th November, Kensington and Chelsea College welcomed guests to its recently refurbished Maxilla Walk Centre, Ladbroke Grove at a special launch event. Free hair and beauty treatments, delivered by college students were offered to all the guests and proved to be a roaring success.
Acquired earlier this year, this centre now boasts a motorcycle maintenance workshop a large, modern hair and beauty studio, plus new design and multimedia rooms. The centre is located in the heart of the vibrant community of north Kensington where it aims to support schools and the wider community.
The event was in support of Colleges week, taking place 9-15 November and was hosted by Mike Jutsum, Principal. Guests included, college governors, local councillors, representatives from connexions centres, youth programs and local residents. Kensington and Chelsea College Principal Mike Jutsum says: “We are delighted to officially launch our new centre and support Colleges Week, it is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the important role that colleges play in our communities.”
