Kensington and Chelsea Launches KCC Alumni For Colleges’ Week 2011
Kensington and Chelsea College showed its support for Colleges’ Week 2011 by launching an exclusive club documenting the high-profile achievements of former students.
A hat designer to the stars, the founder of Gumtree, and a photographer to the royals were among the first ex-students to join the online club
The college is now urging other ex-students to sign up to
‘KCC Alumni’ at www.kcc.ac.uk/alumni where their successes and achievements can be profiled and shared.
Members will also have opportunities to inspire new talent by sharing their experiences and industry knowledge with existing students.
Former students Michael Pennington, Millie Pilkington, Louis Mariette and Gina Foster became the face of the alumni launch with their success stories.
Michael set up the online classified ads phenomenon Gumtree following a web design course and Millie went on to establish a career capturing the A-list after a photography course. Millie’s impressive clientele includes Prince William, Catherine Middleton and Prince Charles.
Gina and Louis also flew the flag for college talent after setting up successful fashion lines following their millinery course.
Louis’ designs are regularly seen in fashion magazines and have been worn by stars including Paris Hilton, Pink and Dannii Minogue.
Gina is also regarded as one of West London’s most sought after designers and was recently commissioned to design the hat worn by Catherine Middleton to the wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall.
The launch of
‘KCC Alumni’ was held as part of the college’s celebrations for College’s Week 2011, taking place from Sept 26 – Oct 2. The national week-long event showcases the vital role that colleges play in providing young people, adults and businesses in the UK with the opportunities they need to succeed.
