Kensington and Chelsea college is opening a new Construction centre at School Road, Park Royal, NW 10. The centre is currently being converted from an industrial building.
The new centre will open after half term in October this year and offer Plastering and Bricklaying courses immediately.
It will expand its provision, from January 2008, to include Painting and Decorating, Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery, minor electrical work and multi-skills.
Commencing September 2008 the construction centre will offer the new Diploma in construction.
Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be for 16 – 19 year olds. They will study the craft of their choice (both theory and practical) + a full level one embedded key skills award.
Wednesdays will be for the intermediate construction award – for all comers and covering all trades.
Thursdays and Fridays will be set aside, exclusively for 14-19 year olds.
We will be open from 9am to 9pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 5pm on Friday. Evening courses will be offered from 5.00 – 8.30 nightly.
The new centre manager and head of construction is Bruce Spenser. Bruce is as Chartered Builder and a Licentiate of the City and Guilds. He has run his own building company for the last 20 years. His new team of Lecturers and Technicians will offer a professional service utilising the latest teaching techniques to ensure excellence of provision and maximisation of success. “We will offer, Start every Monday, taster courses from January and these will be expanded to gradually cover all courses – we intend to make the consumer king!“
