New Music Department Launched For College Open Day

Kensington and Chelsea College Open Day on Thursday 10th November, 2011

Kensington and Chelsea College will be unveiling its vibrant new Music Department as part of the college’s November Open Day, and guests are invited to join in with the celebrations.

On Thursday November 10 the college is throwing its doors open and inviting potential students to come and meet its friendly staff, get indispensable advice on more than 900 courses and grab a free goody bag. Guests can also enter an exclusive Open Day competition to win an iPod.

Several college partners including Connexions, DEEP Recording Studios, Central London Community Health Care and Xenos IT Training will also have stands at the event, offering additional advice and employment opportunities.

The college will also officially open its new look Music Department on the day, giving guests the chance to mingle with a surprise celebrity guest, listen to student performances and test out their musical prowess in fun taster classes.

The burgeoning department’s dramatic make-over has given music students access to spacious recording studios kitted out with industry standard equipment and a greater range of musical instruments including keyboards, piano, drum kits and guitars.

College Principal, Mike Jutsum, said:

‘Our Open Days are a great way to find out about the college and meet our tutors. Many of them still work in the industry they are teaching about so you know you’re getting the best available advice and information out there. ‘

‘This year, we have also heavily invested in modernising our Music Department to give our students the very best resources. If you’re coming along to our Open Day I would recommend visiting the new music studios to see the inspiring changes first hand.’

‘Whether it’s a career as a top designer, a stylist to the stars, a high-flying sports coach or being an inspiring teacher – these are just a few of the dreams brought to life each year through Kensington and Chelsea College.’

Open Day:

Date: Thursday 10th November
Time: 4pm to 7pm for the General Open Day, with the Music Department being officially opened at 5.30pm
