Open Day Success November 2010

Nathan Cambridge

Lucky Teen Wins Ipad At College Open Day

Christmas came early for a lucky teenager who won an iPad at Kensington and Chelsea College’s open day.

Nathan Cambridge was among the record number of people who attended the event to gain expert advice from tutors about courses and potential careers.

Guests also had the opportunity to enter a draw to win an iPad.

After some encouragement from his dad to enter, Nathan put down his name to win the ultimate gadget must-have.

The 15-year-old from South London, who attended the open day to find out about the college’s music courses, could hardly believe his luck when he won the draw!

Nathan said: ‘I love music and wanted to know more about some of the courses I’d read about. To be honest, I wasn’t going to enter the competition as I thought there was no way I’d win.’

‘My dad was the one who encouraged me put my name down for it, so I did and forgot about it until the college called me! I was really shocked and surprised when I found out I had won. ‘

‘I’m going to make the most of the iPad and do as much as I can with it, especially music related activities. It feels like an early Christmas present. There’s no way I’m giving this gift back!’

Despite the cold-snap and rainy weather, more than 200 guests turned up to the open-day held at the Wornington Centre. Free goody bags, refreshments and mini-manicures gave guests an extra treat as they explored the range of courses on offer at the college.

Tutors from across all subject areas were on hand to offer guests in-depth, one-to-one advice and a course application service on the night.

The college’s next open day event takes place:
