Inspiring females are being celebrated at Kensington and Chelsea College for International Women’s Days.
Staff and students at the college are paying homage to women worldwide with displays, quizzes and discussions as part of the international event taking place on Thursday March 8.
Display boards at the college’s Wornington Centre will document the economic, political and social achievements of females, whilst student led discussions will focus on the campaign for equality and acknowledge trailblazing and inspirational females from celebrities to family members.
There will also be a performance from two female music students and stalls with information about local women’s groups.
The college run event, themed
‘Inspiration for Girls’, will take place in the Wornington campus canteen from 3pm to 5pm, and is free to attend. Students are also being encouraged to bring their daughters along to mark the occasion.
College lecturer Kate Barazetti, who teaches English For Speakers of Other Languages, helped organise the event.
‘International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the contribution of women, whether it’s someone you work with, a friend or a high-profile figure. We hope to inspire and motivate through our event, so make sure you bring a picture of the woman who most inspires you!’
