Custodial Provision

Custodial Provision

Learning within establishments

The Curriculum offered is wide ranging, including vocational training in a range of subjects including Motor Cycle, Catering & Hospitality, Construction Skills, and Barbering.

In addition to this, in all prisons KCC offer a range of courses from Entry to Level 2 in Arts, Media, IT, Literacy, Numeracy and Employability and Life-skills programmes. We also deliver discreet Literacy and Numeracy programmes in all prisons and embed this provision within our own vocational delivery and the prison employment opportunities offered within custody.

Quality Inspection

KCC have had 4 external inspections since taking over as the Lead Provider in London and have been graded as following;

This was an unannounced inspection and therefore not graded but the feedback indicated 'significant progress' in most areas.

HMP Belmarsh

This was also an unannounced inspection and the unofficial feedback so far has indicated 'Good' and 'Outstanding' practice.

HMP Latchmere House

Re-inspected in 2008 and was Graded 3

HMYOI Feltham

This was inspected in 2007 and achieved a Grade 2 for the Young People Estate and a Grade 3 for the Young Adult Estate

HMP Wandsworth

We have a full HMCIP inspection, including Ofsted at HMP Wandsworth in the week commencing 1 July, 2009.
