Steve Mepsted - Photography
Steve is an award-winning Photographer with a special interest in Social Documentary Photography and Portraiture. His first degree was in Fine Art Painting at Chelsea College of Art and Design and he holds a Masters Degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from London College of Communication. His work draws upon his previous experience in Fine Art and he feels that photography allows him to reach audiences with story-telling images that allow him to focus on issues not necessarily communicated through painting. He is interested in exploring fresh ways of presenting photographs: from the gallery through to multimedia and the use of sound and text.
Steve has exhibited widely, both as a painter and photographer and continues to shoot documentary photography projects, and write for publication in magazine and book form. He is an experienced teacher and presenter with 17 years of practice, teaching across all levels at Kensington and Chelsea College, London College of Communication and The Cuming Museum.
