Chiko Shindo

Chiko came to Kensington and Chelsea College from Japan, where she had studied floristry and been working in the industry for a number of years. Fascinated by English style ceramics, she came to London and joined a pottery course at College. Here she learnt to make pots and containers of unusual shapes and sizes so she can use them to make creative Japanese-style flower arrangements.

While on her course, Chiko gave two 'guest lectures' to students of a flower arranging class, amazing them with her creative ability and ideas. She also won a gold medal from the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower show for an arrangement she entered in their competition and an adult learners' award in the college. Chiko is now pursuing her career in Japan - we wish her well!
