Helen-Michele Judd
Helen previously studied for a degree in 3D Sustainable Design and came in to contact with occupational therapists as part of her work designing products for people with disabilities. She soon found herself being drawn to occupational therapy as a career.
Helen said: 'From working with occupational therapists at the local hospital I knew occupational therapy was a career I wished to pursue. With no science qualifications I decided to enrol on the Access to Occupational Therapy Programme at KCC which I thoroughly enjoyed thanks to the support from the tutors and excellent teaching. I would highly recommend KCC to anyone who wished to pursue a career in health care.'
After successfully completing her Access Course at KCC Helen secured a place at Brunel University, from which she graduated with a First Class Honours degree. She also went on to win the 2011 London School of Occupational Therapy prize for 'Greatest Academic Achievement in Research'
.
Helen now works as a qualified occupational therapist at Woking Community Hospital.
She added: 'I love working as an occupational therapist, but may have never discovered this without the outstanding support I received at Kensington and Chelsea College, so thank you KCC!'
