I chose KCC because it was my local college, and it had a good reputation as somewhere where you could study and not be too distracted by loads of other teenagers.
The best bits of my course were meeting loads of new people, combining the 3 days studying at college with practical work placements 2 days in every week, therefore being able to put the theory into practice.
I am now working as a nursery nurse in the reception class of a local primary school. The highlight of working in childcare is when a child eventually is able to count, read or write and I know that I have contributed to that.
I am considering doing the Foundation degree in Early Years at KCC as a stepping stone to becoming a teacher or opening my own nursery but this year I am having a break from studying and enjoying my assignment free weekends!
