Jameson Bedonie
Jameson is a Native American Indian (Navaho) and came to London in August 2005 to join Kensington and Chelsea College's BTEC National Certificate in Multimedia. He is using the course to pursue his career in music-making.
Jameson says, I was a professional DJ in California, travelling from Los Angeles to Mexico and everywhere in between. I did this for eight years, while I started learning about electronic music. I thought London was the best place to develop my career, so here I am!
The broad ranging possibilities of the course enable Jameson to work on projects that can be assessed towards his BTEC qualification, but also can be useful for his future career. The lecturers are helping him to make music promo videos, write tracks, make music and develop a website on DJ-ing. He is still working part-time as a DJ, travelling around the UK. He says, It's an excellent way to get to know the UK - I was in Totnes, Devon last week, during the half-term break for a gig and I've got a few more booked
.
I love the course, it's just what I wanted - the other students are great and we can bounce ideas off each other. It will be really useful for me, when I get back to the States.
