Probably one of the most creative and inspirational courses of its kind, we aim to develop students’ ability as fashion designers through exploration of the design process, underpinned by good technical skills.
Working through an exciting series of fashion project briefs, students learn how diverse and individual concepts can be developed to inspire fashion and textile design ideas. Students who apply for this course are normally studying for GCSEs in textiles or art and have good drawing skills.
Applicants must have at least 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths grade 4, or equivalent, or ESOL Level 5). Applicants must also demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for fashion design and a commitment to study. With a strong emphasis on illustration and design development, this course also comprises historical and contextual studies, pattern cutting, garment construction, costume and textiles.
We have excellent links with leading universities, including UAL (University of Arts, London), London College of Fashion, Central Saint Martins and the University of Westminster. At the end of the first year you will gain a Level 3 diploma, you will then progress onto the second year and complete the full Extended Diploma. Year on year 100% of our students are accepted onto BA courses at leading London universities.
