Introduction to Printmaking This course is a practical studio based programme and combines structured teaching and informal workshop time. You will gain a good overview of the printmaking media and grounding in a wide range of techniques such as Drypoint, Collagraph, Lino cut, Monoprinting, Etching and Photo-Etching. You will learn to work in the light and well-equipped studio with specialist facilities, and develop ideas and imagery into a portfolio of creative prints. About the course - an overview

These 4 courses are designed as a year’s programme but can also be taken individually. They are for learners who are not yet proficient in their printmaking skills and want to extend creative and technical knowledge. We start in Term 1 with Monoprint, Drypoint, Collagraph, or Linocut, in Term 2 do a large amount of etching and in Term 3, progress individual projects. Combining techniques is encouraged and the course plan is flexible. Newcomers will join in the class project and be guided through techniques to start off.
