Facilities at Morley College London’s Chelsea Centre are remaining productive during the current lockdown, Volunteers from the college and local community are working in the fashion studios and gallery to produce PPE gowns for the nearby NHS hospital. As well us utilising the resources and skills of our Fashion Department and partners at The Fashion School, volunteers without machine or sewing skills helped cut, pack and transport boxes of the gowns.
News of this amazing volunteering effort made it into the Daily Telegraph and BBC London News, among other media.
This valuable work is continuing at the Hortensia Road centre until further notice. While there is currently no more capacity for new volunteers, anyone wanting to put their name forward to help can contact Tom at firstname.lastname@example.org
Strict social distancing regulations are enforced at all stages of this process.
